Last night you saw our battle with Don Hector Silva as he refuted accounts of his official conduct which are detailed in the authorized George Price biography.

As you saw, he flatly rejected the story given to biographer Godfrey Smith by George Price.

We also pressed him on another point: that in 1959 Silva headed a mini-rebellion against Price complaining that things could not go on in the PUP as they had before.

Glenn Tillett of the Independent Newspaper read portion of the book to Hector Silva yesterday and again, he was defiant:..

Glenn Tillett, of the Independent Newspaper
"He said the five were Santiago Perdomo, Angel Andrews, Domingo Espat, Antonio Espat and Hector Silva."

Don Hector Silva
"As Councilor, Mayor and four councilors and the assistant."

Glenn Tillett, of the Independent Newspaper

"Compliant in a signed two page letter to price that things could not go on as before, the masses they said were now beginning to reason and think and while they were not comparing their limited experience to his and recognized that human natural resents the friend who points out errors they felt oblige to point out that the blunders and perjures in the party that had occurred in the past stem from an absence of organization."

Jules Vasquez
"But how would all of that be made up."

Don Hector Silva
"No, I don't write things like this, I do not commit myself."

Glenn Tillett, of the Independent Newspaper
"Maybe you did not write it but maybe you signed it, because it's a letter a signed two page letter."

Jules Vasquez
"And this is in quotation if I am not mistaken."

Don Hector Silva

"No such letter exist, I want them to show me. Why they don't print the letter. That's the important thing, why didn't they ask me, all what we wanted is for the party to begin to organized the masses of the people, because they were too loose."

Jules Vasquez
"But where were these quotes come from, these are in quotation marks."

Don Hector Silva
"Listen to me I can say that I am the governor, will you go quote somebody and say Mr. Hector says that he is the governor of Belize?"
