Mira was also asked about the selection process for the mayoral candidate who will contest the March Municipal Elections in Belmopan. The party is trying to unseat a UDP council that has been in office for over a decade, and today, Mira told the press that 6 candidates will try to convince the delegates to support them in an upcoming convention:

Booze Allowed after 6:00, But No Bars

And whoever Belmopan's new Mayor will be he'll likely be able to buy election day champagne after 6. That's because that regulation too has been rolled back.

Today the Minister of home Affairs said that It's mainly for the tourists who've had to endure rather dry vacation's of late.

And while that's the rule for restaurants and shops it doesn't pertain to Nightclubs, casinos or bars, those remain closed.

BDF MARCHING/EXTRO

And finally, after a heavy news day, we leave you on this Friday night, with a musical interlude from the Belize Defence Force's Marching Band.

Remember the curfew remains at 8 PM tonight. We're not expected to see an adjustment in that hour until Feb 1st so please stay inside.

Remember also, to wash your hands, keep a social and physical distance of 6 feet, wear a mask, and stay home, as much as possible, BECAUSE the virus doesn't move unless you do.

Stay safe, and join me BACK HERE ON MONDAY

Goodnight and have a great weekend.

Here now is the BDF marching band demonstrating their musical prowess this morning for the Force's 43rd Anniversary:
