Senator Peyrefitte also discussed the establishment of the National Assembly Committee. It was one of the motions on today's Orders. This committee is required to look after the staff of the National Assembly but now it will be meeting more often:

"It's just to look at all the different issues that affect the staff. There is a committee already that was established but I think they're trying to beef it up and have more meetings and determine more how the staff at the National Assembly is dealt with given that it's a peculiar situation compared to the other public service."
"The National Assembly staff committee is a committee that looks after the staff just for the National assembly. Separate and apart from the regular public service."
