And while Campos thinks that his record 4 consecutive terms as Mayor of Corozal Town qualify him to represent the people of Corozal Bay in the House of Representatives, but his PUP opponents think otherwise.

This morning, we asked the PUP Standard-Bearer and the PUP Mayor who succeed him in Corozal Town about his qualifications. They made it clear that in their opinion, he did not properly manage the resources of the People of Corozal Town. Here's that comment:

One of their main complaints against Hilberto Campos is that he signed a contract with Imer Hernandez's company for the construction of roads in Corozal Town. The problem is that the repayment of the debt must continue under future councils, and so we asked him squarely. Did he saddle the Municipality when he was mayor? Here's that back and forth:

We've seen a financial report from 2018, in which Mayor Rigo Vellos and his council asserted that there were council owned assets that allegedly went missing under Campos's administration.
