But what the BNTU is concerned about is the ongoing ad campaign that the PUP is leading against them. Seems that new ads pop up day after day with the message that the unions are being selfish by not taking their 10% salary cut. Smith said she's appalled at how low the government is willing to go.

"It just shows how low they are willing to go, it just shows what this government thinks about the union, a partner or a group who should be a partner with them in resolving a lot of issues this nation has and if it is that they can go to that point to try and destroy our union, to try and destroy our democracy, then it tells a lot about them so the Belizean people need to open up their eyes and see what kind of government we have and the extent they are willing to go."
