And while Faber didn't want to declare a position on that, Shyne Barrow has made it very clear how he will vote on the recall petition against Faber. He's voting to take out his party leader - which is no surprise.
Bu, regardless of how the vote goes, it's a difficult situation for Faber as leader to be in - because if he avoids a recall with a scrape dog margin of victory, it won't look good for his leadership.
Jules Vasquez asked him about that:
Jules Vasquez
"If that even has 33% support of the delegates, to me you're in trouble. I'm saying it has to has less than 20% for you to emerge as the one true leader of the UDP."
Hon. Patrick Faber
"The strength and the power of my leadership comes from the base sir."
Jules Vasquez
"How much percent will you get of the delegates?"
Hon. Patrick Faber
"I don't know, I'm at the stage now where I'm confident that we have passed the threshold but like you, I believe that the more convincing the margin, the bigger the margin the more convincing it will be."
Jules Vasquez
"Do you expect that you will get the support of more than 50% of the delegates against the recall convention?"
Hon. Patrick Faber
"I am working for that very diligently sir and it looks very good at this point. I will not be so bold as to say that I have it in the bag, but it is looking very good as I speak to those delegates."
Jules Vasquez
"Would you agree though, that even if you manage to get around 50% it's not a good look for a mass party leader to say that well I have the support of almost 50%."
Hon. Patrick Faber
"Nothing is in the position we want it in right now, we lost the general elections terribly, we lost the municipal elections terribly, we are down, and we are out."
