And while those Belizean girl footballers are making their name on the world stage, Shyne Barrow has been parlaying his fame, criss-crossing the US making all kinds of appearances.

But we wanted to get an opinion on his efforts from the Belize city mayor because while Wagner missed out on doing his part for sister city relations when the PM snubbed him on that Mexico State visit, the UDP parliamentarian has been hooking up sister cities like a municipal matchmaker.

And, we wondered if the rap star turned politician has been bruising the mayor's ego. But he says politicians quote "Have to learn to grow up." assuring us that he's in full support of Shyne's work and eager to invite some of those US mayors to Belize.

"Last question, sir. Speaking of Sister City, the Sharan Burrow has been out there making relations with sister cities hand over fist. Has he had any consultation with your counsel?"

Bernard Wagner, Mayor, Belize City
"He has been doing his work all there, obviously. He is a member of Parliament. He has been touching base with a lot of Mayors and in my discussion in Florida with him. We had a brief discussion that we are looking forward to inviting some of those mayors that he met in the United States to Belize City to just be able to source seeds online and look forward to the future."

"And so I have no issue with the member of Parliament being representing Belize. I representing Belize City. I see it as leaders. We must begin to talk to the mature to some extent and be able to put the people at the forefront. And if we are able to always put the people on the standard, we are working for the people who are working for the common cause, then we should have no problem serving the people."
