And while Minister Bernard and Minister Chebat get settled in, Minister Rodwell Ferguson is confident that he'll be able to continue the work of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, which he now takes over. But that meant leaving behind Public Utilities and Logistics - to which Ferguson said a less than wistful sayonara, and good luck to his successor.
Hon. Rodwell Ferguson, Minister of Youth, Sports and Transportation
"I have a passion for youths. As a matter of fact, it's not the first time I am minister of Youths, I was the minister of Youth in 2007, so I understand how the department work and what they want to accomplish. When I take up a responsibility, I get serious and I will continue from Minister Bernard, because he was doing a wonderful job and I don't want to go there and let him down. I am not the person who goes in there and dictate. I will sit down with everybody and see what the plan is and how we can work together for the benefit of all young people in this country."
"My leadership might be different, I will sit down and listen and where we come to a conclusion on what we want to do. You might look at youth and sports as a minute industry, its comprehensive. It covers a lot of grounds when it comes to young people and there is where the problems lie. So if we can curb their lives, I want to be a part of that, so sports we have to promote it more. With the pandemic its limited, but to promote more so that they are busy doing something, because they are very energetic and they want to be able to occupy themselves and so if there is nothing happening, then they can occupy themselves with something else."

"Do you feel disheartened having to leave the other ministries behind public utilities and logistics and do you feel like your successor Michel Chebat will do a better job?"
Hon. Rodwell Ferguson
"I don't, in the sense that public utilities they are managed by boards. Most of them are private institutions, private companies, so I have no direct day to day activity in those entities and so taking up the responsibility as the minister responsible for youth and sports along with transportation, my hands are full. So, there is no regrets and the prime minister that is his prerogative to reshuffle when he wants to."

"Do you think Michel Chebat has what it takes to do a good job there in that ministry?"
Hon. Rodwell Ferguson
"Yes, he does, he is a lawyer by profession and so I believe that he will do his best in that ministry likewise. I did my best what I can do, but I say its limited because it's private companies that you are working with."
