In other political news, You might think the UDP leadership would be ready to move on from the Patrick Faber debacle as quickly as it can - but, you'd be wrong. The party's Central Executive met last night - and - according to reports, agreed to give the Faber until Friday to submit that resignation.
Apparently, Faber still has not sent in his resignation - despite his public undertaking to do so on Monday May 31.
The UDP Central Executive met last night - and some thought it would be automatic to consider him resigned and move on. But, reports say there was a strong bloc of resistance against that. And that's why - we are told unofficially - a decision was taken to wait. Some say a letter may be penned by the faithful asking Faber to stay on.
And though he is at the apex of the executive, Faber himself did not attend the meeting - we are told.
UDP Chairman Mike Peyrffite who had promised to give a press conference after that meeting to talk about all that comes next - changed his plans this morning. He was leading the charge to move on from Faber and when that failed - he pulled the plug on his press conference plan and told us to wait for a press release.
None came and when we contacted the party Secretary General Carol Babb this evening she told us there is "no update at this moment."
