But, before he hit the road, Barrow did make one notable move: he appointed former Belmopan City Councillor Jacklyn Burns as a temporary Senator. The former Belmopan City Councillor will hold the position for attorney Sheena Pitts - who is experiencing health issues.

The move is parliamentary house keeping in advance of tomorrow's Senate meeting, but it's also a quid pro quo for John Saldivar's support of Shyne's candidacy for leader since Burns is a Saldivar loyalist.

Notably, the last time she was made temporary Senator - it was in December of last year, right after former leader Patrick Faber and Saldivar had made up. That was a plum for Saldivar's support then, as it is now - since Shyne sees him as a key ally in his leadership bid.
