And while the PUP held forth on a wide raft of bills and motions today - the opposition tried its best to hold its ground - but they were badly outnumbered.
The opposition bench was thin - only Leader Shyne Barrow and Albert Rep Tracy Taegar Panton were rocking the red mic. Hugo Patt was dealing with a funeral, Patrick Faber seems to be boycotting, and sista B…well she doesn't seem to do house meetings.
So, we asked the leader about the very slender ranks on the opposition bench:
Jules Vasquez:
"You're completely outmanned on the opposition bench, I mean..."

"The performance of the member of Albert, I'm impressed, she was very aggressive and very bullish today. She was there for like the three members that weren't there, I appreciate her participation."
Jules Vasquez:
"Leadership material."

"Of course, that's what the UDP does, we produce the best."
Jules Vasquez:
"But sir, speaking about the absence of Patrick Faber and your aunt, Sista B, it's glaring."

"Have you called the former party leader, have you called him?"
Jules Vasquez:
"You are his party leader, he doesn't answer to us, he answers to you. Why isn't Patrick Faber here, he is a seasoned debater, unu need help."

"You used to say he put you to sleep, you used to say he was boring."
Jules Vasquez:
"Sir, I'm saying you need al the help you can get."

"You know, I can never take your advice."
Jules Vasquez:
"I'm not giving advice, I'm asking a question."

"No matter how good the opposition is doing, I don't think the day would come that you would say, the opposition is doing an exceptional job. I've seen you do that with the PUP."
Jules Vasquez:
"I think you're seeing this through a narrow political prism. I'm saying our democracy is suffering because we have such a weak opposition."

"That's a narrative, that sounds like a narrative that is being propelled by special interest. That doesn't sound like a practical narrative. Trust me, I have been all around this country, I continue to go all around this country, and nobody says what you say."
