As we've been reporting, PUP City Councillor Micah Goodin has reportedly gotten a government scholarship to go to law school in Barbados for 3 years. This after he was dumped as Deputy Mayor by his fellow councillors after being involved in a shooting.

And while the council is so far not in favor of giving him a paid leave of absence - the UDP has its own views on it.

A release today says "The UDP congratulates Micah Goodin on his acceptance to the University of the West Indies law program and looks forward to his resignation from the Belize City Council...along with the pay, perks and popularity; public service requires personal sacrifice...17 months into his 36 month term, Micah Goodin is requesting leave to pursue a law degree in the Caribbean... We reject Goodin's request and demand he tender his resignation before booking his flight." End quote.
