For the past two days you've been hearing the vitriolic speech given by Area Representative Mike Espat at PG day on Saturday. He referred to the government appointed Commissioner of Indigenous Peoples' Affairs, as the "a commissioner of Indian Affairs".
Yesterday the The Belize Progressive Party sent out a release condemning the words used by Espat, and calling on him to make an immediate apology to the Commissioner Greg Cho'c and a further apology to all the Mayas in Belize.
We spoke to the BPP's leader Will Maheia about ti via Zoom today:
We wanted to ask the Prime Minister about it today at the Housing launch, but he declined requests for interviews.
