We also asked Fonseca about recent development in the UDP. As we have reported the Caucus For Change, led by John Saldivar, has reached an accommodation with leader Shyne Barrow - which should allow him to remain unchallenged as leader until after the next general election.

Fonseca says he's been unable to keep up with all the UDP drama:

Francis Fonseca, Ministry of Education

"It's not a copped out, but very honestly I have not been paying any attention at all to the UDP and what they're doing. The carcass for change even less, so as I understand it, they were scheduled to have a leadership convention."

Jules Vasquez
"They won't anymore. The caucus has said they are done with that, Shyne will be our leader until after the next general elections."

Francis Fonseca, Ministry of Education
"It's a marriage of mutual survival or mutual destruction. Wherever way you want to look at it. So, I think it's terrible. I've never seen the opposition party at such a low point, the UDP. But, I don't want to get engaged in their inner workings."
