The area representative for Pickstock, Anthony Mahler responded to Taegar-Panton and he said she has no clue of all the programs his government is spearheading on the Southside:

"Madam Speaker, if you listen to the member from Albert, you would think that our administration isn't doing anything for the southside of Belize, that we have totally forgotten this Southside of Belize. Remember, Madam Speaker, for 13 long years: the most powerful ministers in cabinet and on that side of the aisle represented the people of the southside."
"And no, no time during that 13 years did they have free education on the south side, I don't even want to mention them."
"Never in that 13 years did they have the community development fund. And worse to the P U P, This budget and this government have 25 programs to fight against poverty. They have programs in health, programs in education programs for rural development programs for human development. And the list goes on. The member from Albert said that we were gloating about our victories, Madam Speaker, to win the war against poverty, we have to win small battles first. We are not a big economy with an abundance of resources to invest, so we have to win small battles first."
