Doctor Fernando Cuellar was in the news last night after a document emerged showing that the Ministry of the Public Service had supported a 90 thousand dollar ex gratia payment to him.
Cuellar explained that he negotiated to get a one time payment in lieu of a his government pension - which he had earned as a Doctor in the public system.
But, in our preview of the news we said that he had GOTTEN the 90 thousand dollars payment. That was an error and we apologize.
In a memo to the Cabinet Secretary, the CEO in the Ministry of Public Service has simply said he SUPPORTS the payment. At this point it has only been submitted for consideration of the Cabinet Secretary - and nothing has been disbursed.
