Today a new contractor general was sworn in at Belmopan before the governor general. She is Maria Arthurs, whose appointment was announced at the Sitting of the House of Representatives April 23. Her appointment is for a three year period, effective June 1st. Arthurs succeeds Omar Mitchell, who held the post since February 2020.
