Tonight, we note the passing of Winston Smiling, the man called "nephew", a consummate PUP insider and consigliere who died on Saturday at the age of 82.
A release from the PUP describes him as a "lifelong supporter, and soldier of the PUP....an outstanding Belizean and businessman who served his country in various capacities both in the public and private sectors. He was a close confidant and Aide, for over forty years, to his uncle, former Prime Minister and Father of the Nation, George Price. He served, with distinction, as a Senator under both the Price and Musa Administrations. (He) also served the Party in various capacities as a member of the Party's National Executive Committee and up to the time of his passing, as a member of the Order of Distinguished Service."
Smiling is also the namesake and founder of Smiling Meats.
