And while the Ombudsman has a lot of what may be considered nuisance complaints to respond to, Erwin Contreras has not responded to our requests for a comment on all the allegations of impropriety and wrongdoing made against him. And, he hasn't spoken to his current party leader either. Yesterday, we asked Shyne Barrow if he had reached out to the much maligned former first Deputy and Senior Minister. He said they don't talk that much really:

"You have spoken to Erwin, what he's saying?"

"I've been in touch with him overall."

"Have you been in touch with Mr. Erwin Contreras about this contract definitive agreement?"
Shyne Barrow, UDP Leader
"No, we did not discuss it."
Jules Vasquez
"Will you seek to reach out to him to find out what was in his head?"
Shyne Barrow, UDP Leader
"Him and I don't have that kind of relationship. He supported Tracey Panton, he was very much against my leadership, so it's not as if we have that type of relationship. You know I always reached out, but we did not get into the definitive agreement and I'm not sure that I'm in a position to pry out of him what he was thinking,"
