But, government has more than just that letter of complaint from the prosecutors to worry about.

Two days ago an equally serious letter was sent from a group called the Concerned Judicial and Legal Service Officers to the Attorney General. It details a laundry list of complaints against the government for its hiring and remuneration practices with foreign judicial officers.

They are requesting, quote, "urgent correction of salaries for Judicial and Legal Service Officers."

It details a long history of neglect to the salaries of judicial officers -and concludes, quote, "Given the current remuneration climate for existing Judicial and Legal Officers….the morale within the service on a whole has been negatively impacted. It has left JLOs with a feeling that they are either of lesser value than new entrants to the system or unworthy of an increase in remuneration. The current developments are an insult to those who have made a conscious decision to dedicate time and interest in building a cadre of attorneys who offer service for the Government of Belize and who give more than a hundred percent in effecting their duties."
