So, while Shyne Barrow will finally get the unopposed endorsement as leader that he has been seeking for so long - is his party just allowing him to get the run to the next general election because - pundits believe the UDP has hardly any chance of victory in a general election? We asked him just that today:

"Do you accept that many thought and think that we will make Shyne have this one, because he will lose and then we will just get rid of him as a failed leader and then the momentum will start to come in the UDP's favour. How do you view this scenario?"

"I believe that Walt Disney should hire you immediately to write some scripts for them and their motion picture department, because the way you come up with these scenarios, these Shakespearian scenarios is truly impressive."
"I don't give any energy to whatever may have driven some people to cease and desist from any activity that would be disturbing to the party. I focus on what I am here to do; I am here to lead the United Democratic Party to victory for the sake of the Belizean people."
"If what you have said is what comforts certain people, it is not my agenda to dissuade them of that belief. It is my agenda to deliver and I will risk all energy, all focus - I will give everything, I will sacrifice everything so that the United Democratic Party can form the next government and I can serve as the prime minister of this country."
