And the Compol also didn't have much to say in support of his Deputy Commissioner of Police, Doctor Richard Rosado.
Last night on the news you heard him say that he supports the creation of a Firearms and Ammunition Control Board to deal with the issuance of gun licenses - rather than leaving it in the sole discretion of the Commissioner. He said that he supports the model used in Jamaica - and that as it did there, it would decrease the perception of gun license corruption in Belize. Well today the police Sherriff was back in town - and he said you'd have to be crazy to support what his Deputy does:
Reporter:
"Yesterday or deputy said that he supports the gun licensing control board and that it should be emulated after Jamaica's one. We gathered that you're not really impressed by their one?"

Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
"I, I don't think nobody in their right mind would want to emulate Jamaica's gun licensing board. There is a number of issues surrounding that board and while, yes, I do support that we have a board, I think that we can learn from the mistakes that Jamaica made in creating theirs and make sure that our board is one that is that will be able to stand up to scrutiny."
Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
"If you would go and look in Jamaica's news, you will see several instances where the board is under extreme pressure and an investigation because of persons with severe criminal history getting gun license from them. I don't think we want that to happen in Belize. So I do not think that we should emulate Jamaica's one."
Reporter:
"What do you make then of your DCP contradicting what you have previously said about it?"
Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police
"That is his opinion. I am not going to say nothing about it. That's how he feels."
