LGBT activist Caleb Orozco continues to speak out as a member of the People's Constitutional Commission - and on Monday's Sunup on 7, he didn't hold back.

Orozco was addressing the lack of funding disbursed to the Commission to arrange educational sessions - and pay for items as basic as fuel reimbursement.

He said the responsibility for this falls on the Minister of Political and Constitutional reform, Henry Charles Usher - who he called a "birthright baby":

"And I put this problem squarely at the foot of the Minister for Political Reform and Constitutional Reform. I believe he has been negligent in addressing the bottlenecks. And for me, you can't make an investment or waste $1.5 million a month and then say you've achieved something."

"The particular Minister for Constitutional Reform, Religious Affairs, was on the media, I believe, in January 2022 saying he believes in equality. He believes in its value, but doesn't have a record of action that shows that he's committed to equality."

"And with regards to the PCC, that record continues to be distorted, negligent, or nonexistent at best. At the end, what people realize is this process is governed by political legacy of families and birthright babies."

"So you get your father-in-law to be the chair, but you can't pick up the phone and call his cousin to address antis-discrimination legislation? The disingenuousness is disheartening, but they grant you a question and answer, and they beat around the bush and play footsy with the issues."

"I'm not here to play footsy. You all have a constitutional obligation to do your job. So do your job!"

We did ask Usher last week about lording over funds - and he denied it.
