And while our tax dollars won't be going towards an increased phone allowance, the PM says they would be wasted if the Senate Special Select Committee inquired into his government's role in the Portico Definitive Agreement.
The inquiry's first public hearing will be held on December 5th, but the PM maintains that his administration had no part in it so there's no need to investigate them.
Here's what he told CTV-3 when asked about the inquiry today in Orange Walk.
John Briceno, Prime Minister

I have nothing to do with that. That's something independent that's been done by the Senate. And I've said it over and over again. There's nothing to investigate with your government. We've met a definitive agreement. We rejected the definitive agreement, and we said that a new agreement needs to be worked out. If they want to investigate, our present government it's going to be a waste of taxpayers dollars. If they want to investigate what happened before, then, so be it.
