And while the agriculture minister is taking the lead on this one - last week the Leader of the Opposition said he has a pronounced and manifest conflict of interest:

"Of course, Jose Mai has been undermining John Briceno from the very start of this. He goes to the Caneros in particular, the. BSCFA. And, you know, he tells them all these lofty promises. And if Briceno does not comply, they are going to do whatever to achieve what it is they want to achieve."
"One of the things we've been missing is the conflict of interests that JOSE MAI HAS as a member of the BSCFA and the Minister of Agriculture."
