And, the Prime Minister also has to work hastily to name the Commission of Inquiry into the sugar industry.

He committed to do it within 30 days of the signing of the commercial agreement on January 8ht.

So, how is that coming along? He gave us an update today:

John Briceno, Prime Minister
"Presently what we've been doing now is the minister has been consulting with the other three cane farmers associations and this weekend we are going to be meeting with BSI and hopefully with Santander so that then we could wrap up to come finish up with the terms of reference for the Commission of Inquiry so we already got another two names a company from Brazil, the experts, so we have four experts to look at the entire history as to how we can improve this industry and how we can get more effective more efficient growth for the farmers and Belize."

"The Commission we're going to have members, that's comprised of locals, it is the experts, two from Mauritius and two from Brazil."
