And with this flurry of donations, openings, and speeches that the mayor has been busy with these past few weeks, we asked him if his packed media calendar is just naked electioneering under the veneer of public officer. On the contrary, he claims that these projects have taken a while to coalesce and finally it's all starting to fall into place - fortuitously with perfect timing.

"Well you know if you look at the concert papers these were written. The e buses were written in 2020 no 2018 when we came in this program started under Covid we have been talking so long how long have I been talking about buses and how long have I been talking about e taxis it's not just this year with election but the project the project takes a long while you know how these projects are the buses for instance are EU funded grant funds. Right close to €3.8 million that's a big project so it took a while even though I was frustrated sometimes but it is here it is not election it's just that everything is aligning. It's aligning for a big victory."
