And yesterday we told you that the Cabinet Secretary has refused to provide certain documents to the Senate Select Committee, explaining that he sought advice from the AG who said it is a definite "no".

But when we asked the DPM, he didn't know that the CabSec refused information. He added that his ministry has been in full compliance.

Cordel Hyde, Minister of Natural Resources
"Well, I am not aware that he has refused to provide information. You know, it would seem to me that the the Senate has had to access the information, they've gotten from my ministry. I don't know the details of the requests that they sent to the cabinet secretary and what was his response. I know that when they sent the request to our ministry, our ministry complied. And so they've had the benefit that access of that."

Reporter:
"How would you comment, though what would be your observations in relation to what's transpired in the Senate inquiry so far where you had the former lands commissioner come with senior counsel as his attorney and in essence, along with the former lands minister Hugo Patt and stonewalled the senators on that inquiry in relation to land which they say this was not part of your motion and the terms of reference, but it's still related to the projects where the project, it's going to happen and it's of interest to the public to find out how those transactions occurred."

Cordel Hyde, Minister of Natural Resources
"Well, if it were me, I would have dealt with it differently, of course, I am standing here taking a bunch of questions from you at this lunch hour. I mean, that's that's a that's a really cute and technical way to deal with it. But I think that, you know, the public deserves to know and the public clamors for information. And our job as public officials is to be responsive, to be as transparent as possible, to be open. And as I said, if it were me, I wouldn't have taken that approach to everyone their own."
