It's been a rough week for Minister of Public Service, Constitutional and Political Reform and Religious Affairs, Henry Charles Usher.

First, he's being targeted in a political smear campaign, and then, his wife, Jamie Lee Usher got sent home in a high profile termination from Belize High School.

Usher didn't make his case a whole lot better on Monday. He seemed to dodge the question when asked if he is collecting a salary at the Holy Redeemer Credit Union:

Henry Charles Usher, Minister of Public Service
"I have not seen that ad but wherever I am, I serve the people."

Courtney Menzies:
"So you're not collecting a salary at HRCU?"

Henry Charles Usher, Minister of Public Service
"I serve the people wherever I sit, whether I have a political office, a ministerial office, I have a constituency that I work in and I make sure the people are represented and I serve the people wherever I go."

And while Usher was less than conclusive on that - today the Prime Minister was still not quite conclusive:

Jo
"What do you make of your Chairman, Henry Charles Usher is being accused of holding two jobs - one at HRCU - the other as Cabinet Minister - which is in violation of the national assembly handbook's register of interests which states that "Members serving in the cabinet should not have any other employment,"

John Briceno, Prime Minister
"I know of no such thing so as far as I know the chairman of the party minister Henry Charles Usher works for the Government of Belize."

We note that the answer did not preclude the possibility of other employment.
