More than a month has passed since the commercial agreement between BSI ASR and the BSCFA was signed on January 8th.
And, according to the letter of the agreement, the work of the commission of inquiry must begin 30 days later. That interval expired 10 days ago and today our colleagues at CTV-3 caught up with the prime minister and asked him for an update. He says that they are waiting on two more persons to begin their work. He told us where those persons are coming from.
John Briceno, Prime Minister
"The thirty days have elapsed but it is important to point out that unfortunately the full consultations were not done we had to consult with BSI we had to consult with the other associations and only one association was consulted and so we are working on doing the consultations and also now we are getting two more sugar technologists that will join the one from Mauritius these are from Brazil and they have done similar work in El Salvador and so now they will be joining us shortly. We have identified the two persons that we are trying to get and now we need to see when they can come so I believe in the next week or so we should be able to start off with the commission of inquiry."
According to our reports - both sides have not been apprised of these delays.
