And while the recall will likely not happen on March 6th - if at all - Martinez still had a lot to say about the Municipal Elections, particularly the Port Loyola polling station. He says by putting it in Excelsior High School, the Elections and Boundaries Department is opening up a pandora box of trouble. Here's how he put it.

Anthony "Boots" Martinez, Former Port Loyola Area Rep

"My number one concern is citizen security, but apart form that. Excelsior High School is separated by a fence with St John's Vianney, and Excelsior High School sits in the Queen Square constituency. 2009 people are asked from the Jane Usher Boulevard area to go to Excelsior to vote. 1440 people needs to pass through the same area to go to the Muslim school to vote in Queen Square are asked to go to St John's Vianney to vote. You can't get 100 yards line, a 100 yard barrier from Excelsior to St John's Vianney. And then you have the healthcare facility, the health clinic right beside Excelsior. Then you have, my main concern though, it with the various gang rivalry within the area. You have Gill Street, you have LBC, you have Sunset, you have all kinds of things. My main concern is citizen security."

"Then two, that part of Faber's Road, corner of Boots Crescent to the corner of Nurse Finley Street can't handle the traffic in terms of that area there. If you pass Faber's Road now, right now, there is a congestion in terms of traffic. So apart from that, and for me, I have a problem with it because I know the terrain as former area representative, I use to represent even the Queen Square portion which was Port Loyola then and I understand the dynamics, you have the Kraal Road people, the Supal Street people, they're supposed to go to Vianney, you have the people from LBC and Southside and Gill Street. The last time there was a convention held at Vianney for Port Loyola, there was chaos out there, you know. They had big fighting, shooting, all kinda thing, and to me, that will bring extra pressure on the police department too."
