And while the circumstances of that signing raised many eyebrows - it almost went under the radar when Gegg seemed to name the UDP Minister who he claims asked for a 7 figure campaign contribution:
Janelle Chanona, Chair - Special Select Committee
"When you mentioned that you were approached for a seven -figure bribe, was that how it was done? Was that a member of the DOE telling you...?"
David Gegg, Owner - Portico
"I never said anything about bribe."

Janelle Chanona, Chair - Special Select Committee
"The inference was that you were asked to make a campaign contribution, for a seven -figure..."
David Gegg, Owner - Portico
"Isn't that something different?"
Janelle Chanona, Chair - Special Select Committee
"I'm clarifying. In order to get an approval from NEAC, I'm asking are you then inferring that it was a member of the Department of the Environment or an official of the Ministry of Environment?"

David Gegg, Owner - Portico
"I'm not inferring anything, Senator. I'm not inferring anything. I told you what was said to me. I told you how I interpreted it and I told you what came of it. Questions were asked to me if it was a certain person and the answer was yes because that certain person was a substantive minister at the time. I didn't call anybody's name."
We stress that Omar Figueroa has stated flatly that he had no communication with and no meetings with David Gegg to make any such request.
