And that agreement was at the heart of this trilateral meeting between the neighboring countries. The Prime Minister and his Belizean contingent arrived in Calakmul Campeche around 11:00 this morning and he spoke about the ambition of this agreement:

"Well, we're very excited. I think this is the first time we're going to be meeting with three presidents, two presidents and ourselves together to be able to work. And there's so many issues that we want to do."
"Well there are many opportunities. As you know, trade continues to be something that we are pushing, trade with Mexico and with, with, with Guatemala and trying to open up new markets for, for products. So that's definitely high on the agenda. But also to sign this biosphere park between Belize, Mexico and Guatemala, I think that is probably one of the most important things that we can accomplish. It is considered probably the second or the largest reserve after the Amazon, coming this way."
