And we spoke to the PM at his State of the Nation Address, which was given in Belmopan. The rain may have caused a location change but the rest of the ceremony went on as planned - from the guard of honor inspections, to the raising of the flag, and a special surprise - the naturalization of 44 new Belizeans. And in response to his address, the Leader of the Opposition Tracy Panton posted her own and called it "lame." Panton stated that there were "stark omissions" from the address, including the high cost of living, high fuel prices, lack of housing solutions, a failing public health system, and more. She ended her response by stating, quote, "This Briceno government is unraveling under the weight of its own self-inflicted failures. Its demise has already begun, because no spin, no speech, and no "Report Card" can hide the plain and unadulterated truth." End quote.
