"Liberation 9/21", a newly formed solidarity action group in Belize, is calling on the government to repeal Belize's visa waiver for Israeli citizens. The waiver program was activated in 2011.

But now, after the Belizean parliament in 2021 pledged to support the ICC's investigation of war crimes in Palestine, Liberation 9/21 is urging them to act on that pledge by also vetting Israeli passport holders to ensure that Israeli visitors to Belize have not served in the IDF.

Their press release states, quote, "Liberation 9/21 is convinced that, based on a resolution passed by the National Assembly and on international conventions signed, Belize is obliged to take this additional action." End quote.

They have also launched a petition, which will be presented to the government. The link to sign that petition will be available on our Facebook page.

Notably, today, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs welcomed the Ambassador of the State of Palestine, Nayda L Rasheed, for the presentation of copies of her credentials. In her discussion with Minister Francis Fonseca, they spoke about the situation in the Gaza Strip and expanding cooperation between the two countries.
