Will Isla Cariñosa Choose Cannabis?

The Marijuana Referendum in Caye Caulker is set for October 8th and today the Elections and Boundaries issued a notice that polls will be open at 7:00 in the morning until 6:00 in the evening. The polling station will be Caye Caulker RC School, polling area number 34. The question being asked to voters is, "Should the Government of Belize pass legislation to create a responsible, regulated, and taxable legal cannabis industry on the island of Caye Caulker, with a portion of the revenue going directly for the benefit of Caye Caulker and its residents?"

And just like any election, the E&B also reminded the public of offenses during this time, and reminded employers are also required to give employees time off to vote.
