Joseph Ryan Budna has been in a Guatemalan prison for 101 days - and it doesn't look like he's getting out anytime soon.
Today we spoke to him on the prison phone for the first time in three weeks. Budna was ill and battling a flu - but he commented on Jose Mai's abrupt exit from Cabinet. Budna had been posting critical reports of Mai for some months before he was abducted. He said Mai should have resigned months ago:

"What I think about Abelardo Mai? Well, I believe he should have resigned long time, long time. Because it is not the first time I have heard rumors."
"It is something that calls for great concern to be a Cabinet member, to be a Minister of Agriculture and driving around without license plate, I brought that to the attention of the Belizean people and thew following day he placed those license plates on, so, it raises a lots of concerns."

"Barry Flowers, don't think this will go like that, Johnny Briceno as Prime Minister of Belize - don't think that I am afraid of you, don't think that I am afraid to speak the truth."
"What you, your government have done to me is wrong and you know it."
"Mr Musa said he was in favour of an independent investigation and you quickly moved him from the police ministry to immigration."
