Friday's House Meeting will be forever remembered as the day 25 PUP reps all wore tangerine colored guayaberas in solidarity with 16 days of activism,

Some in the public scoffed, some jeered, some cheered.

But, Julius Espat from Cayo South wore a peach Ralph Lauren shirt, not orange. He was the only one to break the color code. So was it an act of rebellion? Or defiance?

We asked him today:

Julius Espat, Minister of Infrastructure Development & Housing
"No, ehm. I just like the shirt that I had on, it fit really well."

Reporter:
"So it was not an act of rebellion."

Julius Espat
"No, no rebellion at all, I'm just comfortable in who I am and I thought that I was comfortable in the one that I wore and I applaud the others for having a deeper orange than I did but no problem."

Reporter:
"Were no shirts customized for you?"

Julius Espat
"I don't know because I didn't have one. I'll be honest with you, we learn from our mistakes, I personally believe that if we had worn a white Guayabera with an orange ribbon it would have sent the signal and it would have been professional but a decision was made and the outcry of the public was not positive and we need to learn, we are human beings and we make mistakes. I think the initiative was a really good one, the people saw it maybe in a little different light but it was for a good cause and hopefully we learn and we go to ribbons instead of shirts."
