And going back to our interview with Julius Espat yesterday….does the Cayo South Representative have his Community Development Fund receipts? He says he does and that it's all been sent to the Ministry of Finance. Espat told us what he's been using his funds for.

Julius Espat, Minister of Infrastructure Development & Housing

"Well all the information goes to the Ministry of Finance. The way the system is set up, you present the project and you give them a budget of the project, and then they allocate the funds for you to complete the project. You cannot get additional funds if your documentation does not go in. So the Ministry of Finance is in possession of all the documentation for all the area reps. It depends on where you are. That's the use of it. In Cayo South, for example, we use it a lot within communities at community centers. We have done sporting facilities. We are helping with schools. I mean we are putting it to infrastructure which is needed in a rural community. in the urban areas, I think it's a little bit different. So each constituency is a little different in how they use the funds."

We'll have more of that interview tomorrow.
