At the end of three stages, a Swede, Bjorn Anderson is leading the tour de Belize. Anderson rides with Comfort Air R&A Cycle and he took a commanding lead in Sunday's second stage, coming in two minutes ahead of everyone else. Sunday's race was one of the longest stages, a 95 mile haul from Orange Walk to Belmopan. But today in the team time trials the Santino's AEG team showed its dominance finishing twenty seconds ahead of the second place team. Today public relations man Kwame Scott says the multi-stage race is moving like never before.

Kwame Scott, P.R. for Tour de Belize
"The second stage started at ten o'clock in Orange Walk. It was a ninety-five mile race, approximately ninety-five miles. It traveled from Orange Walk via the Boom Road to Belmopan where we finished in front of Papi's Home Center.

There were many attacks along the way, it was a blistering pace, a record breaking pace. The Boom Road provided a perfect carpet for American John Delong, he ran for about twelve or thirteen miles or so. After he was caught somewhere around mile 22 or 23, there was a breakaway and in that breakaway, there were about twelve or so riders. Out of that twelve riders, the Swedish rider, riding for Team Comfort Air-R&A Cycles, his name is Bjorn Anderson. He broke away somewhere around mile 45 and rode uncontested to the finish line in Belmopan.

Today's stage was the third stage. It was the team time trial where you ride as a team against the clock. Team Santino's-AEG-Toshiba took that one, winning, I think they did 49:07 which was a very good time for the journey, it was 25 miles along the Hattieville Burrell Boom Road and as we get set for the fourth stage, we don't exactly who the leader is. I can tell you that going into the third stage this morning it was the Swedish rider, about a minute and forty seconds in front of his nearest competitor who is Nuri Velasquez, a Guatemalan rider.

Tomorrow morning early, at six o'clock, we have a 50 mile road race that starts and finishes in front of Leslie's Imports. It is going to travel to mile 25 and back on the Western Highway and there are quite a couple bonus sprints along the way. We expect it to finish in maybe an hour, forty minutes, somewhere there about."

Tomorrow is one of the shorter stages 50 miles, from Leslie's Imports on the Western Highway to mile 25 and back. You can find the complete standings at http://www.tourdebelize.com.
