Sports Minister Rodwell Ferguson was at the FFB Headquarters in Belmopan for the official visit of the FIFA President, and we asked him for a comment. We're told many Cabinet Ministers were lining up for appointments to meet the FIFA boss.

Ferguson told us that he is very encouraged by the support that the international organization continues to provide in pursuit of Belize's football development:

Rodwell Ferguson - Minister of Sports

"I just met Mr. Infantino this morning, right here at the FFB compound, and I'm happy that he choose to visit our small country. We never spoke in my lifetime that a president of FIFA would have visited Belize. But I have seen their input, over the last maybe five or ten years, where there has been a serious transformation in football in this country because of FIFA inputs. And so, I guess he decided to come to Belize, and it's not for votes, because according to the president, they had already told him that he already had their full support. But, just for their Football for Schools, Belize has been rated as #14 who got the assistance out of 211 countries. So, there is something that we're doing significantly to attract the FIFA organization."

We'll have more from Ferguson later on in the news when you'll hear his strong rebuttal against the report which emerged last week. That's the one which attempts to implicate him in corrupt behavior.
