Belize lost a football legend and community activist on Monday January 16th when 41-year-old Deon "Pussy" Flowers was the victim of a fatal accident.
It happened around 8:00 at night near the Westrac roundabout at Mile 21/2 on the Phillip Goldson Highway where police found Flowers on the ground bleeding profusely and having sustained injuries to the head. Reports are that Flowers was on a motorcycle when collided into an iron railing and traffic sign in or around the Westan compound.
Flowers was transported to the KHMH for treatment but succumbed to his injuries on Thursday January 19th. He will be remembered as a champion of youth in sports a man who made a tradition out of his third world football camps which served scores of Belizean children throughout the years.
