Orange Walk Town Felt The Flood

And while that is the national overview - here is the local view from the Mayor of Orange Walk Town - who says the weekend rain seemed like it would never end:

Ladrick Shepherd, Mayor, Orange Walk

"We couldn't control the amount of water - 3 hours of constant raining, lightning and thunder. There is nothing this council could have done to stop this from happening, but we noticed there are 16-17 major areas that had major flooding section, so we went there and decided that we were going to attack 5-6 of these major areas. I can tell you that spin nearly in the entire town of Orange Walk and we didn't have anybody that needed to evacuate, even if water was inside their house, they did their best to take it out."
