But, this year's hurricane season is not done yet. And we know that October and November can be the most vulnerable months. In fact hurricane Lisa hit Belize exactly three years ago, on November 2, 2022.
The Chief Met says he can't predict what will happen between now and the end of the month:
Ronald Gordon, Chief Meteorologist
"Well, it's too early to say what will happen at the end of the season. We don't want to get ahead of ourselves. We know that we are still in hurricane season, but we had our first cold front crossing, which is a good sign, last week and things are very quiet at the moment. So at least within the next seven days, we do not expect any systems will threaten us. We do need to keep our public alerted. Hurricane season runs from June to November and it finishes November 30th, my apology. And sometimes we do have systems forming outside of the season. So the weather doesn't end on November 30th. But overall at the moment things look relatively quiet."
