Will BTL's ownership be transferred to ICC tomorrow or will Michael Ashcroft block it?

Well, that's the question that was put before BTL's board of directors in a meeting, which concluded just half an hour ago. According to our reports the board was apprised of its responsibility under "Article 38G" in a legal argument, outlined in a letter from the leader of the opposition. Still though, 7NEWS understands that there's been no opinion sent form the office of the Attorney General on why the Ashcroft controlled board should not invoke article 38G.

Nonetheless, closing is set for tomorrow and 7NEWS has confirmed that Jeffrey Prosser is in the city - after arriving on his jet today.

And if it's any indication of what the public feels - well, after last night's Ashcroft interview, the numbers on our online poll have changed dramatically. The question on the poll is: "Who's best for BTL" and before last night Ashcroft was dead last behind Jeffrey Prosser and the leader, purely local interests. But today he's surged ahead and into the lead, and is now commanding 47% of the 360 votes, a 30% increase.

You can still vote in the poll and let us know what you think.
