Ronald Cox, he was accused of firing an ak-47 at four police officers near Archie's nightclub back on the night of May 25th 2002.
Though no one was injured, opening fire on lawmen with a machine gun is a serious accusation, and when Cox was convicted today, Chief Magistrate Herbert Lord sentenced him to serious jail time.
The 33 year old was today found guilty of aggravated assault against the four police officers in addition to charges of keeping prohibited firearm and ammunition for the AK-47. For each of the four counts of aggravated assault, Cox was sentenced to three years amounting to a total of 12 years. For that AK-47 Cox got an additional 3 years and still 3 more was added for the bullets. All together that was 18 years but since they are to run concurrently, he will spend 6 years in jail.
