It is at the root of the whole Social Security scandal and today the Social Security Board claims they have been paid the $6 million owed by Glen Godfrey. According to the General Manager Narda Garcia they have the word but they don't have the proof.

“First I must tell you that we got paid today the outstanding balance on the $5.8 million okay.”

It’s $5.9 million plus interest.

“It’s $5.6 (million) plus interest which is almost $5.9.”

Is there any record that can be shown that you did receive? Is there a return check or something that shows you received $5.9 million from Glenn D. Godfrey?
Narda Garcia,
“Yeah I guess. I’m here now today. I’ve been here from this morning but I’ve been told that we’ve received the payment so probably by tomorrow I can tell you definitely.”
And true to her promise, Manager of the Social Security Board Narda Garcia has this evening faxed a copy of the check from International Telecommunications Limited to the Belize Social Security Board for an even $6 million. From documents we've seen we thought the figure to be $6.2 million but Garcia has confirmed that this is the full amount plus interest. Again, this is money owing for loan payments Social Security had to make on behalf of various Glen Godfrey companies between November and June of this year. The revelations of this three weeks ago on 7NEWS was the first indication that Social Security money had been used to guarantee Glenn Godfrey's debts.
