Government continues to get more and more egg in its face over its emphatic rebuttal of a deal with Lufthansa. Today, Newco, the company that is taking government to international arbitration for US$33 million because it feels it was jilted out of the airport deal, issued a statement.

It clarifies that Lufthansa Consulting has an interest in the ownership of Newco and would have been responsible for airport management and operations as provided in the concession agreement. It goes on to say that, "the termination action was contrary to the requirements of the concession agreement...and....the arbitration is now proceeding according to United Nations rules." Government insiders have characterized Newco's claim as frivolous which may or may not be whistling past that old graveyard.
