It wasn't sabotage but instead it was a freak weather occurrence that sent one half of a BEL lamppost crashing to the ground near Sav-U yesterday. BEL technicians have determined that a weather related insulator had a hairline fracture and that caused it to leak. We assume that gave rise to a dangerous electrical contact, which led to the breakage and small fire. BEL has said that it will pay for the damaged van.
