Retrenched Worker's Turn of Fortunes

On Monday 7NEWS showed you the face (See The face of GOB's Retrenchment) of what some are calling government's stealth retrenchment. Delita Moody and Shirlene Sabal with a combined 22 years in the Ministry of Home Affairs were abruptly terminated last week Monday.

Today we have some good news to report for one of the women. Sabal told 7NEWS that after our story aired she received a call. That led to a job interview on Tuesday and next Monday Sabal begins a new job in the Accounts Department at Matus Engineering. Meanwhile Delita Moody's job search continues. The Public Service Union says that about 91 open votes workers have been retrenched since January.
